Hi there, nice to meet you! My name is Kim, I am 29 years old, from Antwerp, Belgium, and I am half Swiss. I have a background in babysitting, psychology and in midwifery.

I have babysat children between the ages of ~2 months old to ~8 years old for about 10 years. I studied psychology for two years, but found my passion in neonatal en postpartum medical healthcare, and switched my studies to become a midwife. I unfortunately didn't finish my very last internship so I don’t hold a degree, I did however finish all my classes.

I am currently in Japan on a student visa (Japanese language student) until March/April 2027, and would love to be working with kids again.
I always loved being and playing outdoors with kids, and I love keeping them busy with (board)games, colouring, arts and crafts, reading and playing along with their imagination.

I speak English, French, Flemish (all native), German (C1 European standard), conversational Italian, and I’m currently studying Japanese in Shinjuku.
My hobbies include dancing, drawing, singing, movies and reading.

I lead with empathy and kindness, and hope to inspire those qualities in the kids I interact with. Safety will *always* come first, and to me, self expression (especially in children) is also important.

Je m'appelle Kim, j'ai 29 ans, je viens d'Anvers, en Belgique, et je suis à moitié suisse. J'ai de l'expérience en babysitting, en psychologie et en obstétrique/néonatologie.

J'ai gardé des enfants âgés de 2 mois à 8 ans environ pendant une dizaine d'années. J'ai étudié la psychologie pendant deux ans, mais j'ai découvert ma passion pour les soins médicaux néonatals et post-partum, et j'ai réorienté mes études pour devenir sage-femme. J'ai toujours aimé être dehors et jouer avec les enfants, et j'adore les occuper avec des jeux (de société), du coloriage et dessins, des activités manuelles, de la lecture et en jouant avec leur imagination.

Je parle anglais, français, flamand (langues maternelles), allemand (niveau C1 européen), italien en conversation, et j'étudie actuellement le japonais à Shinjuku.
Mes loisirs incluent la danse, le dessin, le chant, le cinéma et la lecture.

Je fais preuve d’empathie et de gentillesse, et j’espère transmettre ces qualités aux enfants avec lesquels j’interagis. La sécurité passera *toujours* en premier, et pour moi, l’expression de soi (en particulier chez les enfants) est également importante.

Hello everyone!

For many years, I have been working as a caretaker for young people with disabilities on their vacation - now I am in Tokyo working as a school bus supervisor for an international school in Tokyo's south. Taking care of children and making sure they are safe, have a good time and learn new things has been a part of my work for a long time now. I am an architect by education, so I naturally bring in never-ending curiosity for our world and societies and high observational skills. As I learned over the years, both are extremely valuable when working with other humans.
I am fluent in German and English and speak French on an intermediate level.
Before coming to Tokyo in 2024, I lived in Berlin, Germany.

I love creativity and curiosity. To nourish both has always been a great joy during my previous jobs as caretaker. Drawing and painting are very dear activities to me, so are crafting and construction of models, buildings, ships, anything. Growing older, cooking started to play a huge role in my everyday hobbies. I like to combine work and effort with creativity to end up with beautiful or tasty results. I believe children are equally capable of understanding the beauty in that.
Having a good and active time on playgrounds or a good discovery-stroll through the nature of a local park are favourites for spending time with kids outside. When staying inside, legos and all kinds of board games are great fun.

Hallo allerseits!

Gerne stelle ich auch noch einmal kurz in deutscher Sprache vor. Ich habe über viele Jahre hinweg als Betreuer für Menschen mit Behinderungen gejobbt. Die Betreuung fand im Rahmen von Ferienfreizeiten statt, das heißt wir haben Ausflüge ans Meer, in Tierparks, ins Schwimmbad oder zu Riesenspielplätzen gemacht. Blieben wir in der Unterkunft, verbrachten wir den Tag gerne mit Puzzle, Backen, Basteln.

Neugierde und Kreativität sind mir persönlich sehr wichtig; Ich liebe es, neue Dinge kennenzulernen und teile diese Freude daran gerne mit Kindern. Ich glaube, Kinder sind von sich aus unfassbar wissbegierig. So waren mein Lexikon und Atlas für mich früher absolute Lieblingsbücher. Wenn das Wetter gut genug ist, um nach draußen zu gehen, sind eine aktive Zeit auf dem Spielplatz oder eine Expedition in die Natur der örtlichen Parks immer eine gute Idee. Für Drinnenbleiben sind zum Beispiel Legos oder sämtliche Brettspiele eine tolle Möglichkeit, sich eine schöne Zeit zu machen.
