Membership and Costs

When you become a premium member, you can contact our community of pre-approved sitters, post jobs, message sitters directly and hire anyone you wish to work with. Additionally, any job you schedule through our platform as a premium member is 100% covered by insurance. You also get access to the CareFinder support team whenever you need assistance. When you log into your CareFinder account, it is as simple as clicking the pink "Upgrade Now" button at the top of your dashboard. If you have any questions on how to upgrade, you are also welcome to reach out directly to the CareFinder team at

Within your MyMembership section, there is a button titled "Downgrade Membership." As long as you do not have any live jobs posted on CareFinder, you are able to cancel your subscription with that button.

Yes, CareFinder charges a platform fee on all sittings through the CareFinder platform.

The sitter will send a digital payment request shortly after the scheduled sitting is complete. You can choose to accept the payment request or decline and propose a new amount. If the payment request isn't accepted or declined within 24 hours, the amount will be automatically charged to the card you have on file with CareFinder.

With a premium membership, you can view all sitter's profiles, contact them directly and post jobs, which will be covered by CareFinder's insurance. Basic membership is free and allows you to view sitters' profiles and post jobs, but not to send messages or hire sitters. For more detail on membership benefits, please click here

Your monthly subscription payment will be charged on your registered card the same day you upgrade. Each subsequent payment will be processed on the same date of the following month. For example, if you upgrade on March 15, your first payment will be processed that day and your membership will automatically renew on April 15, May 15, etc.

Each sitter is responsible for determining their own cancellation policy. Please check their profile and/or speak with the babysitter directly to understand their policy.

No, you will not automatically be charged. Sitters need to manually send a request for payment, so if there is no sitting, there will be no request!

We do not provide refunds for the membership fee. Please remember to pause your subscription if you aren't using CareFinder.

Babysitting and Communicating with Babysitters through CareFinder

Great! You can register to be a babysitter here. Once you've registered, a member of the CareFinder team will contact you with the next steps.

We recommend that you meet with babysitters you are considering before hiring one. The CareFinder team puts a lot of effort into screening every sitter on the platform, but hiring a babysitter is a very personal decision. To get the best idea if a sitter is the right choice for your family, a face-to-face meeting is a good approach. It also introduces the sitter to your children in a low-stakes setting and allows you to see how everyone gets along.

It will depend on the babysitter. Some sitters prefer only to help with childcare and others are happy to do more. When you create a babysitting job, you are able to specify if you have any additional requests. Doing so ensures any sitters that apply are aware of "extras" and are agreeable to assisting with them.

To ensure CareFinder is able to provide the best support to our sitters and families, we require communication about babysitting jobs take place on our platform. However, we do recommend exchanging personal contact information, to be used only in the case of emergency.

All jobs can be edited simply by clicking the "Edit" button at the top of the job page.

The best way to connect with a sitter on CareFinder is to invite the sitter to your job! Click "Create a Job" to start the process. You are also able to invite sitters to your jobs by clicking on the "Invite to Job" button on their profile.

Many families on the CareFinder platform have success finding a sitter for last minute jobs. Be sure to make your job visible to all of our approved sitters so it gets seen by everyone.

While it is up to each individual sitter, we do recommend that you pay the sitter their hourly rate for the interview, as they are taking time out of their day to meet with you.

No. CareFinder does not share any of your personal information with the sitter. The sitters can only view the information in your profile page.

Make sure your job post on CareFinder is visible to all of our approved sitters then we can boost it to our sitters. Usually jobs have applicants within minutes.

We request that parents pay for the sitter's transportation. In Japan, it can be very expensive and it is standard for employers to cover transportation costs.
