No. CareFinder does not charge any margin on the babysitting.
CareFinder aims to be transparent and honest with the members of the CareFinder community, we only make the membership fees. CareFinder is intended to be more than a babysitter matching site or babysitter agency. It is intended to be an international community based on honesty and trust. Charging a margin goes against our philosophy.
We want to foster strong bonds between families and babysitters. Charging a margin on top of the babysitting symbolically puts us between you and the sitter. We want our families to develop strong bonds with our sitters, so standing in between to families and sitters by charging margin goes against our philosophy.
Sitter costs vary per sitter and what they do. In general sitters costs start from ¥1500 per child. Some sitters charge ¥2000 and more if they are teaching a language. Some charge more per child.
If a sitter is too inexpensive then the quality of sitter usually goes down too.
You pay them directly with cash after the sitting. Please make sure you pay the hourly wage plus transportation.
We have separate packages for English schools, beauty salons, childcare spaces, hotels and event planers amongst other organizations. Please reach out to us to find out how we can help your clients: email@example.com
Premium members can contact sitters via messages and job posts, they can all so see all sitters on the site. Jobs properly posted will be covered by insurance.
Basic members can view all of the sitters, but message them or invite to jobs.
Babysitting and Communicating with Babysitters through CareFinder
Please register to be a babysitter at: https://www.carefinder.jp/en/user/user-care-giver/register. Once you register someone from the CareFinder team will reach out to you to start the screening process.
We highly recommend that you meet the sitters beforehand. Though CareFinder puts a lot of work into screening the sitters, hiring a babysitter is a very personal decision. So, to get a good idea if the sitter is right for you, it helps to meet face-to-face before hiring.
In addition it helps to introduce the sitter to your family. You can see how your children and sitter interact. It helps build a stronger bond with the sitter.
That depends on the sitter. Some sitters prefer to focus 100% on interacting with your children. Others are willing to do housework. We recommend that you specify what you request of the sitter in the job post and the sitters that are okay to do the specified work can apply.
Yes. However, only exchange personal contact information to use in case of an emergency. For your safely please keep communication on the CareFinder platform.

In order to either send a message or invite to a job you will need to upgrade to premium membership.
Most people have no problems finding a sitter last minute if they post a public job.
We recommend that you agree to pay the sitter their hourly rate for the interview for taking time out of their day to meet you.
No. CareFinder does not share any of your personal information with the sitter. The sitters can only view the information in your profile page.
Post a public job on CareFinder then we boost it. Usually jobs have applicants within minutes.
We request all parents to pay for the sitters transportation. Unlike in other countries transportation can be expensive in Japan. It is standard for employers to pay for transportation.
At the moment roughly 70% of our sitters are from outside of Japan.
