Introduction

Hello, my name is Adi 😊

I am a multilingual educator from Wales, U.K., with a multicultural background and over 15 years of experience working in education and childcare.
My professional background includes working in international schools in Japan, teaching English as a foreign language to a wide range of ages, and providing babysitting support in both the U.K. and Japan.

Academically, I have studied both Medical Engineering and International Business Management at accredited British universities, giving me a diverse educational background that has strengthened both my analytical and interpersonal skills.

I have now been living in Japan for 12 years, and for the past eight years I have worked as an early childhood educator. More recently, I transitioned into my current role, working part-time for a company that publishes English educational materials and operates children’s eikaiwa schools. I made this change to reduce my working hours as I prepare to begin a Master’s degree in Education this summer.

I strongly believe in lifelong learning and personal growth. To me, learning never truly stops, and it is never too late to continue developing yourself and exploring new growth opportunities.

As an educator, I strongly believe in a child-centred approach to teaching and am especially inspired by the Reggio Emilia and Montessori philosophies, valuing children’s independence, curiosity, creativity, and natural development. I also incorporate principles from the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (IB PYP), focusing on inquiry-based and child-led learning experiences.

🎨 My Interests:
I have always been drawn to creative and hands-on activities, including drawing, calligraphy, music, singing, dancing, swimming, arts & crafts, and volunteering. I also enjoy cooking, reading, photography, science, literature, performing arts, and exploring different cultures and languages, especially through travel.

Many of my personal interests naturally become part of the learning experiences and activities I provide for the children I care for. I love creating opportunities for children to explore, create, ask questions, and enjoy meaningful experiences through play and interaction.

👩‍🏫 My Approach:
I aim to provide warm, high-quality childcare tailored to each family’s individual needs.

✨ What I Offer
> Childcare support available in English and/or Japanese
> Natural language interaction through play and daily routines
> Play-based, inquiry-based, and Montessori-inspired childcare
> Encouragement of independence, confidence, and curiosity
> Calm, structured, and nurturing care
> Study support in Japanese available up to elementary grade students
> Study support in English for students of all grade levels

I strive to create a safe, engaging, and supportive environment where children feel happy, respected, and confident to be themselves.

📝 Additional Notes:

My main focus is childcare and education
I am happy to assist with children’s meals, bath time, and child-related tidying
I am comfortable working in homes with pets with advance notice.

We had Adi as our babysitter today and from the very beginning she was incredibly professional. She provided clear communication regarding her rates, so there were no unexpected surprises.

Her communication throughout the day and her attention to our children’s needs were exceptional. The activities she suggested suited our girls perfectly. Adi went above and beyond to make them feel comfortable and engaged.

As this was our first time using the app, Adi made the entire experience easy and reassuring by taking the time to genuinely connect with both us and our children.

I highly recommend Adi she is kind, caring, professional and provided outstanding babysitting services for our family.

Thank you, Adi. Our family is so grateful for your assistance. Not only were we able to enjoy an activity from our bucket list as parents, but our girls also created wonderful fun memories during our time in Japan.
