In celebration of the momiji (Japanese Maple), the mountain is hosting taiko drumming, dance performances, concerts and more in front of the cable car Kiyotake Station plaza. Mt.Takao is a great hiking spot for families as it is easy to access, full of route options and offers various attractions such as restaurants, temples, and even a monkey park. It is welcoming to families with children of all ages as the mountain offers a cable car or lift option in addition to the seven well-marked official courses.

In celebrating the 90th birthday of the gingko trees, the Hachioji Ichou Festa is supporting the reconstruction efforts of the 2011 Tohoku Earthquake with two days full of events. There will be taiko drumming, yosakoi and awaodori dance performances, workshops, magic shows and many food vendors.
