the littlest ones.

Pricing

Clear rates, agreed before you book

Each sitter's profile shows their hourly rate. Rates reflect experience and qualifications — infant specialists and nurses may charge toward the upper end.

Rates are per sitter — and per situation

  • Rates are set per sitter and shown on their profile — confirm before booking
  • For siblings, state the number of children and ages in your post and agree the rate with the sitter up front
  • Transportation for the sitter is covered at actual cost

Two simple plans

  • Free plan: ¥0 per month, with a 22% (tax incl.) fee per sitting — good for trying it out or occasional bookings.
  • Subscription plan: ¥3,278/month (tax incl.), with the fee reduced to 11% (tax incl.) — better value once sittings become regular.
  • You can switch plans anytime. The sitter's transportation costs are covered by the family at actual cost.

Extra checks where
they matter most

  • Municipal notifications confirmed. For sitters caring for infants and toddlers, we confirm the notifications to local authorities required by Japanese law — on top of our own screening.
  • Interviewed one by one. Since 2013 our team has individually screened over 1,000 applicants, checking identity, experience and suitability.
  • Professional backgrounds. Many sitters are nurses, teachers or experienced parents themselves — read each profile and its reviews.

FAQ

Infant & sibling care FAQ

From what age can a sitter care for my baby?
Sitters state the ages they accept on their profiles, and many care for infants. Share your baby's age in the job post and only suitable sitters will apply — each one with the legally required municipal notification confirmed.
Can one sitter look after two children?
Yes. Post the number of children and their ages, and sitters who are comfortable with siblings will apply. Agree the details and rate up front.
Will the sitter follow our nap and feeding routine?
Yes — that's the point of the handover. Write your routine into the job post, walk the sitter through it on the first visit, and they'll follow your plan, not theirs.
What if our plans change?
Cancellation is free until 48 hours before the sitting starts. Between 48 and 24 hours, 50% of the sitting fee applies, and within 24 hours, 100%. The same policy applies to every sitter, so there are no surprises.
How are sitters vetted?
Every applicant is interviewed individually — identity, background, experience and qualifications are checked, and only those who pass our internal screening join CareFinder. For sitters caring for infants and toddlers, we also confirm the municipal notifications required by law.
Is there insurance during sittings?
Yes. Sittings booked through CareFinder are covered by Sompo Japan liability insurance, with coverage up to ¥500 million.
