What travelers book most

Tokyo is wonderful with kids — and even better with a few hours that are just for you.

A Tokyo evening for two

Dinner in Ginza, a show, a quiet izakaya — while your children wind down at the hotel or Airbnb with their sitter.

Disney & theme-park days

Book a sitter for the park day, or let younger siblings nap at the hotel while the big kids ride.

Business trips

Meetings covered, children happily looked after — a morning, an afternoon or a full day.

Jet-lag mornings

Early-riser care so parents can catch up on sleep before a big sightseeing day.

Pricing

Clear rates, agreed before you book

Each sitter's profile shows their hourly rate in yen — roughly US$18–35 per hour for travel sittings. You confirm the details and price with your sitter before booking — no surprises on arrival.

She watched my two children in our hotel and allowed us to have some wonderful date nights.

★★★★★— John

It’s always nerve-wracking finding care in a foreign country, but thanks to Ivy my husband and I were able to enjoy our final night of vacation in Japan child-free, with peace of mind that our little one was safe.

★★★★★— Katherine

She is helping our baby girl adjust to a difficult jetlag schedule with so much kindness and care.

★★★★★— Da

Jumana showed up on time and had no problem watching my 6-year-old in the tiny hotel room. Easy-going and flexible, which helped me feel comfortable as a solo parent getting a few child-free hours on our vacation.

FAQ

Travel babysitting FAQ

Will the sitter come to our hotel or Airbnb?
Yes. Sitters come to hotels, serviced apartments, and Airbnb or Vrbo rentals across Tokyo. Many families arrange to meet their sitter in the lobby first, then head out for their evening.
Do sitters speak English?
Yes — CareFinder specialises in bilingual sitters. You can filter by language when browsing, and every profile lists the languages the sitter speaks.
How far in advance should we book?
A week or more ahead gives you the widest choice, especially for evenings and weekends. Shorter-notice requests are often possible too — post your job and message available sitters.
What if our plans change?
Cancellation is free until 48 hours before the sitting starts. Between 48 and 24 hours, 50% of the sitting fee applies, and within 24 hours, 100%. The same policy applies to every sitter, so there are no surprises.
How are sitters vetted?
Every applicant is interviewed individually — identity, background, experience and qualifications are checked, and only those who pass our internal screening join CareFinder. For sitters caring for infants and toddlers, we also confirm the municipal notifications required by law.
Is there insurance during sittings?
Yes. Sittings booked through CareFinder are covered by Sompo Japan liability insurance, with coverage up to ¥500 million.
