Experience

I have extensive experience working with children and students in both educational and creative settings. Currently, I teach English and dance (musical theatre, K-pop, and hip-hop) to elementary students at the International Dance School, Reggio International School, and École Internationale Franco-Japonaise School in Tokyo.
In this role, I combine movement, song, and acting games to help students build confidence, teamwork, creativity, and performance skills in English, while adapting lessons to a variety of learning styles.

Previously, I worked as an English Tutor at Kokusai Junior College, assisting students with language acquisition, pronunciation, and conversation practice. I have also tutored K–12 students in Sacramento, California, including those in the Foster Care System and the American Indian Education Program, creating personalized learning plans and providing guidance in reading, math, and academic skills.

Beyond academics, I have mentored students as a Faculty Student Peer Mentor at California State University, Sacramento, and supported personal and academic development at the Asian American Center through events and workshops. My experience also includes engaging children creatively and culturally, such as teaching Sunday School at the Buddhist Church of Sacramento, leading the Jan Ken Po Gakko Summer Program, and performing with Disney Cruise Lines, where I entertained families and helped create memorable experiences.

Across all roles, I have developed strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, and I am comfortable providing care, instruction, and support for children aged 1–12. Other teaching experiences include teaching cooking lessons (ages 10-12), teaching dance (ages 4-12), tutoring math & English (ages 6-adult), teaching English as a second language (ages 4-10), and babysitting (ages 2-10). I am focused on creating safe, engaging, and enriching experiences for every child I work with.
