Hello! My name is Jarod, and I’m an Australian currently living in Japan. I’m a friendly, patient, responsible, and adaptable person with experience tutoring and caring for children of different ages, including younger and older students and children with special needs. I have tutored young children in spoken English, as well as mathematics and science, helping them learn in a way that is engaging and easy to understand. I recently completed my Bachelor of Health Science (Clinical Health) and gained experience at a child health research centre. My long-term goal is to become a paediatrician, so I have a genuine interest in children’s health, development, and wellbeing.

I’m also the eldest in my family, so I’ve naturally grown up taking on a caring and responsible role with my younger siblings and cousins. Outside of childcare, I love animals and have two cats and two dogs back home in Australia! I really enjoy spending time with children and helping them feel comfortable, safe, and supported. I’m happy to help with homework, reading, educational activities, daily routines, or simply keeping children entertained and engaged.

I believe one of the best ways to teach and connect with children is through the things they already love. I’ve always been interested in dinosaurs, animals, Pokémon, video games, sports and exploring new things, so I enjoy incorporating children’s own interests into learning and activities. I use these interests to make learning fun while encouraging curiosity, creativity, and confidence. I’m also happy to speak English with children and help them develop their English naturally through games, conversation, reading, and everyday activities.

48+ hours before the scheduled sitting: No cancellation fee
Between 48-24 hours: 50% of sitting fee
Within 24 hours: 100% of sitting fee (+ transportation cost if on the way)
