Hello! My name is Helen and it is a pleasure to meet you. I am a New York City native. Although I am a NY native, I have been living and working in Japan as a teacher. I am bilingual in Spanish and English, and even though I have lived here for some time, my Japanese is a bit limited.
Although I was born and raised in NYC, I am a lover of nature (as you can tell by my profile picture). Japan's natural beauty has turned me into a huge nature girl. I love hiking, going out for walks, and being out with all the lush Tokyo has to offer. During my free time, I love to press the flowers from my hikes, ride my bike to the river, or work on my embroidery skills. If I am not working on my artistic side, I enjoy reading books and watching my favorite anime! Not only do I look forward to teaching and taking care of your child, but I would love to share my passion for nature and encourage them to fall in love with all the shades of nature.

I have six years of experience working with children. I have a range of experience working with different age groups. I have experience working with children as young as 5 to the oldest 15 years old. In March 2023, I graduated from Sophia University with a master's in education. I can work closely with your child and help them with essay writing, grammar, or any academic needs they may have with the English language. I love encouraging a child to think critically, so I love engaging in critical thought and conversation. In addition, I love teaching students about history and social studies. I look forward to helping your child improve in these subjects if they need it!
