I'm an English Teacher and I'm currently learning the Japanese language. I've been providing supervised care to children ranging from 7-months to 14-years since 2008. I care about children's safety and well-being and I'm First Aid certified to provide primary emergency care. I can plan and engage children in both fun and educational activities. I like reading with and to children. I also enjoy simple DIY science experiments (if permitted by the parents) such as using water, oil and honey to build density towers. I can also provide homework help and tutoring in English and Mathematics. I can care for dogs and cats too while babysitting. Feel free to contact me about a potential booking.

I've been providing supervised care for children ranging from 7-months to 14-years-old since 2008 as a babysitter and a Sunday school teacher. My duties involved preparing bottles and meals, changing diapers, taking children outdoors for free-play, homework help and doing the bath and bedtime routine. My Sunday school duties entailed storytelling, music class, preparing snacks and playground supervision. I've also worked with children in the classroom as a Mathematics and English teacher. When I'm babysitting, I follow the parents' rules. If permitted, I typically use crafts and activities to nurture children's creativity and curiosity but I also allow time for free-play. I like to read to and with children. In addition, I can provide homework help in Mathematics and English. I also provide the usual babysitter duties such as meal preparation and cleaning up. If required, I can also do the bath and bedtime routines. For babies and toddlers, I prepare bottles and baby food, change diapers and help with potty training.

We were so fortunate to have Kay look after our children (two girls, 8 and 10). Once we had interviewed her remotely, we knew right away that she was the sitter for us, and we wanted to make a job offer before her schedule filled up with other families.

Kay is warm and trustworthy, and very professional and well-prepared. The kids felt comfortable with her right away and my younger daughter said later "she knows how to start a conversation." The girls also told me later that "she has almost everything you'd need for games and activities in her bag". Apparently, this includes dice, snakes and ladders, watercolour pencils, a sorting game and more! She's like Mary Poppins with the bottomless bag. She was also very conscientious and thoughtful with regards to the coronavirus situation. In addition to being on top of the guidelines from the WHO, she brought face masks for the children, thinking that we might not have been able to get them because of the shortage in the shops.
Kay planned outings for the kids and activities with them at home, including math games.
I would not hesitate to have Kay look after my kids anytime and I would not hesitate to recommend her to other parents. I only wish we were staying in Kyoto longer or that she lived near us.

Kay was so lovely. She was flexible as well - I asked her to come 30 minutes earlier on very short notice and she was right on time. She was very sweet with my boys 😌

Katyusha is very friendly and confident. As an English teacher and Sunday school teacher, she is very creative with her students. She can engage her students in both fun and active games, as well as educational games.
