The 6th Annual “I Love Ireland Festival” is Japan’s largest Irish event that takes place at Yoyogi Park every year to celebrate Ireland’s national holiday, St. Patrick’s Day (March 17th). It remembers St. Patrick, one of Ireland’s patron saints, who introduced Catholicism in Ireland. You can experience Irish culture through food, drinks, merchandise, music, dancing as well as rugby informational sessions and booths for two days. On Sunday, there will also be St. Patrick's Day Parade along Omotesando from 1pm to 3pm.

Awaodori is the traditional dance of Tokushima with a history that spans over 400 years. Today, Awaodori is enjoyed throughout Japan with local festivals adopting the name and preserving the culture. Koenji's Awadori has become one of the most well-known Awaodori in Tokyo and it takes place every year at the end of August since 1957. At this special event on Saturday, you and your family can learn how to perform this traditional dance in preparation for this year's festival! Purchase tickets early online for a discount!

Location: Sensoji Temple (Asakusa)
On March 18th, 628, two fisherman brothers fished a Buddhist statue out of the Sumida River. This statue happened to be one of the Bodhisattva Kannon and was then used to found the great Sensoji Temple that we know and love today. Come and join the celebration of the founding of Sensoji Temple and enjoy the beautiful golden dragon dance! According to legend, the Kannon took the form of a golden dragon when she descended from heaven.
